VISITORS to the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2018 (KLIMS’18) will be able to check out a variety of commercial vehicles apart from a whole range of passenger vehicles, concept cars, exotic cars and motorcycles.

The 9th edition of the show will open from Nov 23 to Dec 2 and will feature an autocade of commercial vehicles such as trucks, prime movers, pick-ups, panel vans and buses.

“To support the economic engines of Malaysia, commercial vehicles are an important component in the supply chain,” said Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) president Datuk Aishah Ahmad.

“KLIMS’18 will present a range of commercial vehicles for the business sector and the general public to explore the exciting possibilities of people and goods movers.”

During the show, Isuzu will be highlighting its latest breakthrough in diesel engine technology by showcasing its 1.9-litre BluePower Diesel Engine.

“This newly designed small-displacement and high-power engine is Isuzu’s solution to meet strict environmental standards with great pulling power and fuel efficiency,” said Isuzu Malaysia COO Masayuki Suzuki.

Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, will promote its Super Ace small pick-up, Ultra trucks and Prima prime movers - touting them as having superior performance, world-class cabins, high load carrying capacity and flexible bodyload configurations.

MSM Metal Industries Sdn Bhd, a metal engineering company and mobile food truck fabricator, aims to make a big impact at the show.

The company is building a 20-foot high robot named “Tanker” from metal and automotive parts and will be showcased for the first time in Malaysia at KLIMS’18.

“Tanker is a project that is the first of its kind our engineers are building, using scrap metal and automotive parts found in our factory,” said MSM Metal Industries CEO Charles Chan.

He added that the robot would help promote the company’s range of services that includes OEM contract manufacturing for kitchen appliances and equipment.

Organised by MAA, KLIMS’18 has been themed “Beyond Mobility” and will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
