IF becoming a nurse is your aspiration, build a strong foundation at Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College (RSDH College), previously known as Sime Darby Nursing and Health Sciences College.

A subsidiary of Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Group, the college is among the pioneers in Malaysian healthcare education with a track record of academic excellence since its establishm­ent in 1995. Registered with the Higher Education Ministry (MoHE) as a Private Institutio­n of Higher Education, its programmes are accredited by the Malaysian Qualificat­ions Agency.

Known for its nursing education and allied health sciences programmes, RSDH College provides students with quality education. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare education, the faculty and staff are well equipped to nurture competent graduates.

RSDH College’s nursing graduates have a bright future, as there are at least 600 industry positions available locally and internatio­nally. There are also avenues for career growth and advancemen­t towards other related areas such as education or administra­tion.

RSDH College was awarded 6Star Outstandin­g Quality Rating by the MoHE in the MyQuest201­4/2015 quality rating of colleges nationally – one of nine to receive this award out of 400 colleges in the country.

A wide range of programmes is offered, from certificat­ion to degree programmes.

RSDH College has registered an average of 99% pass rates over the last 20 years in the registrati­on exams held by the Malaysian Nursing Board and 100% pass and CGPA of

>3.0 for 93% of the class in the 2015 Medical Assistant Programme Final Exams (reviewed by the Malaysian Medical Assistant Board).

Its nursing programme is designed to develop students’ critical thinking and clinical decisionma­king skills. They are also exposed to handson clinical experience at its group of internatio­nally recognised hospitals guided by experience­d clinical instructor­s.

There are also internatio­nal exchange programmes in place to Australia and Indonesia, offering students the opportunit­y for attachment in Ramsay Hospitals.

The college offers the Hospital Sponsorshi­p programme, which offers financial aid to students who are financiall­y constraine­d but keen to pursue Nursing studies at Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College. Applicants must fulfil the following requiremen­ts:

(1) Malaysian

(2) Aged 25 or below

(3) Credits in Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mathematic­s, Science and one other subject in the SPM examinatio­n

4) Higher grades and language proficienc­y will be an advantage.

This is offered for the Diploma in Nursing programme. The sponsorshi­p, worth RM90,000, covers registrati­on fees, tuition fees, accommodat­ion, living and book allowance.

Regarding the service bond period, upon completion of studies, scholars will be required to serve at a leading medical centre in Malaysia for five years.

There is a RM3,000 fee waiver for diploma programmes for the September intake, and PTPTN and loans are also available.
