Realise your dream of higher studies

-

FARAH Nadhirah Nur Firdaus Seet was determined to achieve her dream of pursuing a higher education. Coming from a single income family, this dream seemed impossible at first, as her family could not afford private education.

Undaunted, the Kuala Lumpur-born lass continued searching for a way to achieve her dream. She came to know about SEGi University and the scholarships it offered to talented and bright young minds.

“My seniors told me about SEGi University and its stellar reputation among students and the working population. The bursary options to help me to pay off my tuition fees was also a major reason for me to choose this institution,” she said.

“It is difficult for my father to balance our daily expenses with schooling fees as I have three other siblings still in school. Thankfully, I was awarded a 50% scholarship based on my Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia results.

“I am very thankful to have at least RM30,000 taken off of our shoulders. I am grateful to SEGi for giving me the chance to pursue a tertiary education.”

High Achievers’ Scholarship

SEGi is a firm believer that quality education must be within reach of willing minds and natural talents. In the last four decades, it has given out over RM100mil worth of scholarships to students who applied to study in SEGi.

SEGi’s High Achievers’ Scholarship (HAS) is aimed at rewarding academic excellence and helping youths realise their full potential. It provides benefits that help students get a head start in their choice of career.

Students can apply for HAS in a wide range of programmes such as business and accounting, communication studies, creative arts and design, early childhood care and education, engineering and the built environment, hospitality and tourism, technology and innovation, American Degree Programme and foundation studies.

School-leavers are also encouraged to speak to SEGi counsellors and submit their application for HAS. This programme offers a full tuition fee scholarship to those who have obtained 10As or more in SPM or high scores in UEC, with a 75% rebate for 9As scorers and 50% rebate for 8As scorers.

Meanwhile, STPM leavers with 4As will qualify for a full-tuition scholarship and a 75% and 50% rebate is offered to those who have obtained 3As and 2As respectively. Recipients are required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.70 every semester to keep receiving the scholarship.

ACE rebate

SEGi also rewards those who have also achieved great academic success through its ACE rebate. SPM, O-Levels and UEC students are entitled to RM500 rebate for every distinction (A+, A or A-) obtained in their examinations, while STPM and A-Levels students are eligible for a discount of RM1,000 for every A scored.

This scheme is open to self-funding and PTPTN students. There is no limit to the number of discounts or rebates as ACE recipients can still apply for other forms of financial aid.

Application and acceptance

Speak to the friendly counsellors as they will guide you in the admission procedure. They will also help school-leavers choose the right programme by matching their interests with their strengths through a career test.
