All things sweet
IT looks like many of our readers have a sweet tooth, and they happily expressed their love for “desserts and cakes”, our topic for this week.
Ashvini Jeyakanthan, five, seems to enjoy all things sweet, be they cookies, biscuits or cupcakes.
“My favourite desserts, sweets and cookies are too many to name. I love homemade cupcakes, popsicles, gummy sweets, colourful chocolate flavoured sweets. I like to help Mummy bake cupcakes.”
Tan Kate-Lynn, 10, says “I love ice creams, macarons, cakes, waffles and cupcakes. I help my mum bake at times. My favourite is mum’s banana walnut cake.”
Six-year-old Ratanjeet Kaur is a big fan of cakes. “I enjoy chocolate cake. I enjoy having it for dessert.”
Eight-year-old Fan Rui Lin writes, “My favourite dessert of all time is ice-cream. I love cookies too especially chocolate chip cookies. They are simply yummy!”
Bernard Jude Andrew David, seven, is also a fan of sweet treats. “Mummy’s chocolate cupcakes are the best in the world. They are delicious and melt in the mouth. My mother is a good cook and baker.”
Older sibling Gideon Immanuel Andrew David, nine, enjoys apple pies. “These sweet pies are tasty and yummy. If you are a food lover, you will surely love apple pies. If my mother wants to buy any dessert for the family, apple pie is always my first choice.”
ITEM: Deepavali is primarily celebrated by those of Hindu faith, but around the world, Sikhs, Jains and some Buddhists also observe the Festival of Lights. Draw a greeting card to wish your friends celebrating the holiday. Send us your drawings on white unlined paper.
