AIMST University’s Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) acknowledges that it is no longer business as usual, with globalisation and digitalisation having irreversibly affected the business landscape.

The FBM’s “cultivating minds” approach extends beyond the classroom in the form of coaching and mentoring designed with each student’s learning abilities and interests in mind.

Delivered by industry experts, this approach assists students in transitioning to their chosen careers. The FBM further expands students’ horizons by regularly exposing them to the global landscape.

This is primarily done through international collaborations and semester exchange programmes with several international universities, including Kanagawa University, Japan, and PSG Institute of Management, India.

The following are testimonials from several 2017 FBM graduates.

Shireen Yong (BSc Finance & Management), who now works at Maybank, says, “I had a wonderful experience under FBM. The lecturers and mentors were professional and kind in assisting me with my learning. I would say that I gained most in terms of decision-making and problemsolving abilities, which I find very useful in my work today.”

Kesshigeen Kumar (BSc Finance & Management), who obtained a position with Tesco, says, “FBM is truly passionate about creating tomorrow’s leaders by providing students with a platform to develop leadership and soft skills to face the real world. Lecturers go above and beyond the call of duty to relate the outside world to our syllabus. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to study than this one, where educators are concerned about students’ welfare and not just academic performance.”

Jay Lim Chun Chew (BSc Marketing & Management), who became an entrepreneur, says, “I feel that FBM is one big family. Our lecturers and mentors always looked after us and I could go talk to them when I needed assistance, which is why I keep in touch with them. This support has definitely helped me come up with ideas for my business.”

FBM offers five undergraduate programmes – the BSc (Hons) Finance & Management, BSc (Hons) Business & Marketing, BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance, BSc (Hons) Management Information System, and BSc (Hons) Internal Auditing & Management – which are licensed by the Education Ministry and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency.
