See the difference with organic skincare

-

SANCTUM has been making natural skincare products since 1992. In response to the rising popularity of organic skincare among consumers, the company reformulated its entire range in 2005 and was certified organic the following year.

As the demand for organic food grew, the market for suppliers and growers of organic raw materials also expanded.

Just 10 years ago, there were limited choices for consumers of organic skin and body care products. Now, as natural and organic ingredients become more readily available, more companies are able to create quality skincare products that are certified organic.

Because a product’s integrity is just as important to Sanctum as its percentage of organic content, the company makes conscious decisions to achieve as much organic content in each product as possible without compromising quality.

Sanctum sources organic ingredients from many parts of the world, including Asia, Australia, South America, South Africa and Europe. Where possible, it obtains ingredients from fair trade producers in underdeveloped communities.

There are three classes of products:

1) Non-organic products: Under 70% organic content

2) Certified organic ingredients: Over 70% organic content

3) Certified organic products: Over 95% organic content

In a certified organic product, the non-organic percentage of the formula, not including water and minerals must be of natural origin.

Therefore, it can neither include preservatives such as parabens, potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate or have preservatives be hidden under terms such as parfum.

The organic content of all Sanctum products is now more than 70%, with many past the 95% threshold.

This is achieved not by compromising quality but through time and careful formulation. It chooses organic raw materials carefully and maintains medicinal levels of active properties in its products.

In Australia, organic products are regulated by the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS).

Any organic product that is to be exported must come from a certified organic processor/ grower and have its manufacturing facility and formulations approved by an AQIS-approved certifying body.

There are numerous certifying bodies in Australia that audit manufacturing facilities and approve products.

Sanctum receives its certification through Organic Food Chain Pty Ltd and bears the logo on its products, giving you the confidence that you are buying a product that is truly organic.

Sanctum’s certified organic skincare range is created using only the finest natural ingredients to nourish, hydrate and heal your skin.

Ingredients such as the nourishing macadamia seed oil, soothing aloe vera gel and calming calendula flower work in harmony with your skin.

The range includes products designed for oily, normal and mature skin as well as products formulated for sensitive faces.
