Enchanting festivities in store
SPECTACULAR decorations and performances illuminate the ‘Festival of Lights’ celebrations at Gurney Plaza.
Embodying this year’s theme of ‘Enchanting Deepavali’, a pair of elegant peacocks welcome shoppers at the mall’s Gurney Entrance.
Each night, their flowery feathers will be lighted up to create an ambience of warmth and festivity, whilst bringing out the charms of Indian culture.
Step inside, to find a brightly-coloured peacock kolam made with with grains of colourful rice. Traditionally, kolam sare drawn to welcome Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of prosperity, into the home.
Notably, another eye-catching kolam can be found at the Interlink, Ground Floor (between Love & Co and SK Jewellery) alongside a 2.43m high peacock. The colourful kolam spreads from the tip of the peacock’s feathers, accentuating its beauty and elegance. Peacocks are regarded as one of the most auspicious birds in Hindu mythology, with its feathers believed to bring good luck and prosperity.
Besides the decorations, a series of folk dances and performances presented by The Temple of Fine Arts will further enliven the Deepavali celebrations.
Shoppers are sure to be enchanted by traditional numbers like the Odissi and Bharatanatyam, as well as this year’s highlight, a special Peacock Dance.
The shows start at 2pm on Oct 27 and 28, as well as on Nov 3 and 4, at the Interlink, Extension Wing. Be sure not to miss it!

All one needs for shopping is CapitaStar. From now onwards, shoppers will just need to download the CapitaStar mobile apps from Playstore or Google Play to start earning STAR$.
