Message from Senior Adviser (4As) & Organising Chairman

- DATUK JOHNNY MUN SENIOR ADVISER TO THE ASSOCIATION OF ACCREDITED ADVERTISING AGENTS MALAYSIA (4As) AND ORGANISING CHAIRMAN OF THE PUTRA BRAND AWARDS 2018

HOW quickly a year flew by. It seemed like it was only a little while ago that we had our eighth Putra Brand Awards celebrations and bam, it is here again.

The passage of time in many ways mirrors the way brands are looked at by consumers. No matter how much is done or invested, it is not a given that consumers will remember your brand over others.

The constant need for brands to connect with consumers is too critical to ignore, particularly now with so many touchpoint options. Coming back to this year’s celebrations, it is indeed so encouraging to see so many of Malaysia’s prolific marketers gathered at the Majestic Hotel.

We would also like to sincerely apologise to the many who cannot be with us here owing to space limitations.

This year, we are proud to have a new research partner in Ipsos. Headquartered out of Paris and with about 90 offices worldwide, they bring to the table invaluable experience in the area of analytics technology.

Historically, the Putra Brand Awards research has always prided itself on garnering at least 6,000 respondents per show, thus making it Malaysia’s, if not the region’s, most robust survey.

This year saw an increase of over 20% more respondents to the survey, which was done in collaboration with major dailies and media groups.

This is a clear demonstration of consumers taking a bigger interest in the brands they use and how they feel empowered to vote for their favourites.

On behalf of the 4As and the Putra Brand Awards committee, our heartfelt appreciation goes out to all of you here tonight to celebrate Malaysia’s finest.

A big thank you also to Matrade, our permanent chair, and to all the sponsors and media partners who have helped to make this awards presentation possible.

Lastly, regardless of the colour of the trophy you win tonight, remember that all of you are winners in your own right. You have been handpicked by the people – your consumers. Kudos to all.

Thank you and God bless you.
