For the past 24 years, BrATs young journalist workshops have been taking young, aspiring journalists on adventures all across Malaysia past participants have made mooncakes, woven songket on traditional looms, interviewed butlers, and gone gibbon-hunting.

These experiences are exclusive to BrATs – but fun though it is, it’s also a great learning experience!

Under the eagle eye of award-winning r.AGE journalists, participants learn to navigate the new world of multimedia journalism, including learning to do proper research, interview people from all walks of life, shoot industry-grade documentaries, and take brilliant pictures.

Even more importantly, this is a place for young people to build lifelong friendships with peers who share the same passion for new experiences and journalism.

There have been two camps this year already, but don’t worry about missing the boat because this December 19-22, r.AGE will be hosting its last BrATs camp of the year in the chilly mountain tops of Genting Highlands!

Thirty teens aged 16-19 will get a sneak peak at how things are run in one of the happiest places in Malaysia, and even get a chance to try out some of the indoor theme park’s new rides!

The December BrATs Genting participants will undergo a fourday journalism workshop facilitated by r.AGE journalists, before going out on the field to carry out exciting, exclusive assignments.

The BrATs workshops cover the full gamut from interviewing, writing and photography, to videography and video editing. That, and the exciting assignments, make BrATs a programme you definitely don’t want to miss!

?? ?? On top of learning the basics of multimedia journalism from award-winning R.AGE journalists and going on exclusive assignments, the BRATs Genting 2018 participants will be ending their year on a high – 1,800m above sea level high, to be exact.
