Some teachers stick strictly to teaching academics while others such as Yasmin Noorul Amin ensure that you will be a jack of all trades.

Yasmin, who is Global Teacher Prize 2015 Top 50 finalist, is more than just a chemistry teacher to her beloved students.

Recognising her contribution to the education industry, the Government granted her an Excellence Award in 2008 and appointed her as the head of chemistry education for Selangor.

When she is not teaching, she involves her students in the organisation of study camps to teach students additional skills that may be helpful in the future when they step into society as working adults.

Furthermore, she bonds with her students through frequent discussions about world affairs and takes them on trips to broaden their horizons.

Yasmin engages with her students through social media, especially when they are preparing for their final examinations, so that she can provide clarification on any questions her students may have.

Dedicated to nurture

Teachers are with students for the most part of students’ formative years. Aside from your parents, they are the people who help you grow while guiding you to the right path.

They are not just here to educate you academically but also nurture and polish you into a capable, all-rounded person who can and will contribute to society.

If you have dedicated teachers such as the ones mentioned above, keep them close because their passion and expertise will surely help you fly high.
