Top quality training for doctors

-

RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus (RUMC) in Penang became the country’s 10th Foreign University Branch Campus (FUBC) this year and the first in the northern area.

It delivers an exceptional global experience with the added benefit of a Malaysian footprint.

Formerly known as Penang Medical College, RUMC was upgraded to FUBC by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia in March with its full name Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and University College Dublin (UCD) Malaysia Campus.

Nearly 1,700 doctors have graduated from PMC/RUMC with globally recognised medical degrees from the National University of Ireland, and are practicing in Malaysia, Ireland and other nations.

The degrees offered — Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Obstetrics — are recognised by both the Malaysian and Irish medical councils as well as worldwide.

RUMC has inherited over 250 years of medical experience from two prestigious Irish institutions — RCSI and UCD.

It offers superb clinical teaching with two and a half years of pre-clinical training in Dublin followed by two and a half years of clinical training in Penang.

The crucial final clinical stage of teaching occurs in hospitals in Penang and Seberang Jaya where students have full access to patients. This ensures they are well-prepared for housemanship as they are already familiar with the Malaysian healthcare system.

For details, log on to www. rcsiucd.edu.my or follow RUMC on Facebook or Instagram @ RCSIUCDMalaysia. Alternatively, make a date with RUMC at the Star Education Fair 2018 (Booth A45).
