Yuletide joy at Straits Quay
WELCOME the festive season at Straits Quay in Penang where an enchanting celebration is in store. Immerse yourself in the magical spirit with the many events lined up.
The celebration got off to a glorious start with the recent Christmas Launching ceremony cum Annual Christmas Charity Bazaar. This year’s bazaar saw the participation of over 30 local charities and NGOs.
“We believe in touching the lives of the communities we operate in, especially the needy and underprivileged, for this is the core spirit of Christmas which we wish to share and spread,” said Eastern & Oriental Berhad (E&O) projects and property investment senior manager Wong Siew Hui.
Not to be missed is also the Christmas Thematic Fair at the Ground Floor Main Lobby from 10.30am to 10.30pm daily until Jan 2. Check out the various booths selling an assortment of decorations, confectioneries, trinkets and gifts.
Make a date with Santa at 5pm on Dec 16, 23 and 25 and at 7pm on Dec 22 and 24. A portly Santa will be roaming the mall giving out candies to children.
For fitness buffs is the Christmas in Wonderland Zumba Fitness Party at the Straits Court at 5.30pm tomorrow.
FGA Church and Persatuan Kebajikan Jiran Baik Pulau Pinang will fill the air with their melodious singing of Christmas carols at 8pm tomorrow and Dec 22.
There will also be a special Christmas Music Performance at 7.30pm on Dec 23 by Korean Connection. Be prepared to be mesmerised by the exciting dance and instrumental showcase.
Catch the Christmas in Penang drama and concert by Audacity at the Straits Quay Convention Centre (SQCC) from 7pm to 9pm on Dec 22 and from 10am to 12pm on Dec 23.
Shopping wise, spend a minimum RM200 (RM150 for SQ Club members) in a single receipt to redeem a RM10 Straits Quay cash voucher until Jan 2.
Finally, the 2019 New Year Countdown By-The-Sea at the Promenade at 8pm on Dec 31 promises a fabulous time with the many activities including a live band and Straits Quay’s signature fireworks lighting up the sky over the marina.
