Global learning opportunities

-

TODAY’S job market is changing with employers preferring a versatile and multiskilled workforce while students themselves prefer interdisciplinary courses, double majors or double degrees as opposed to traditional degrees.

Brickfields Asia College (BAC), an awardwinning institution, is revolutionising education by offering multiple options as it is now apparent that the “one size fits all” approach to education is obsolete.

With a wide range of world-class pre-university, undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and short courses from over 30 international partners and affiliates, BAC’s undergraduate degree programmes include law, business, economics and marketing with 3+0, 2+1 or 1+2 options to choose from.

To complement these international qualifications, BAC also offers various programmes to build core competencies, thus increasing the global mobility and employability of its graduates. This ensures that BAC graduates remain relevant as being adaptable equates to wider career prospects.

CIE A-Level

The Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) A-Levels is the world’s most recognised pre-university programme. BAC provides a wide range of subjects in the arts and sciences while offering students the option of choosing either the Express Route (11 months) or the Standard Route (18 months).

Students can select from a wide range of A-Levels subjects that BAC offers which include biology, chemistry, physics, law, economics, accounting, English literature, further mathematics and mathematics allowing them to progress to a variety of degree programmes in law, business, medicine, finance, engineering or communication, among others.

Students looking forward to getting a head start in their careers will find the BAC A-Levels Express Route an ideal option. This unique programme coupled with BAC’s UK Transfer Degree Programme in Law or Business allows students to graduate up to two years ahead of their peers.

Most recently in the June 2018 exam, Teoh May Xuan scored the highest marks in Malaysia for A-Level Law, while Lee Ji Kean scored the highest marks in Malaysia for A-Level Business and Mum Pei Shan Xuan scored the highest marks in the world for AS Level Law.

Foundation in Law

The Foundation in Law (FIL) is a comprehensive programme designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a degree in law or its related fields.

The FIL is now recognised as an entry requirement for students intending to pursue the Certificate in Legal Practice in Malaysia.

The FIL provides students with a solid grounding in core legal subjects such as criminal law, contract law, tort law and the English legal system, while also developing the skills needed to succeed in almost any career.

Upon successful completion of this course, students can choose from a wide range of undergraduate programmes in social sciences and humanities such as business, management, finance, economics, marketing, mass communications and public relations.

The FIL emphasises practical experiences while also enabling students to build on their existing skills through interactive and student-centric approaches to learning. They will benefit from a holistic and hands-on methodology through discussions, exploration and evaluation of issues, in addition to developing presentation skills.
