Plenty to savour at hotel buffets
THE Light Hotel Penang in Seberang Jaya is paying tribute to Christmas and New Year with delightful buffets featuring a multitude of classic favourites.
The multicultural team of chefs is set to tantalise palettes with creations like whole roast turkey with chestnut and mushroom stuffing, baked lamb ragout puff with nuts and raisins, seabass on ratatouille and basil pesto, and crustacean seafood in bouillabaisse broth.
Also on the menu are Asian delicacies consisting of braised Chinese seafood treasure soup with mushroom, juicy tender roast duck and chicken crepe with chef’s special sauce, stir-fried crab with BBQ sauce and loh mai kai (steamed glutinous rice with mushroom and chicken).
Diners can also relish the hotel’s signature biryani rice with cashew nuts and raisins, butter rice, lamb kurma, chicken varuvel and chicken shawarma at the Indian corner.
The Malay section on the other hand tempts with prawns in coconut milk and sliced pineapple, baked fish with assam pedas sauce, and Thai red beef curry, among others.
For more choices, head on over to the action stalls for pasta, char koay teow, curry mee, tomyam noodles, assam laksa and Indian bread, to name a few.
The buffets would not be complete without appetisers such as seafood on ice and salad bar plus desserts comprising dark chocolate yule log cake, gianduia cheese cake with hazelnut, and raspberry compote with mascarpone cream and crumble.
To be served at Spice Brasserie, the Christmas Eve Buffet High Tea (noon to 3pm) is priced at RM95+ per adult, Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner (6.30pm to 10pm) at RM135+, Christmas Day Special Buffet High Tea at RM95+ and Christmas Day Buffet Dinner at RM105+.
Alternatively, the Christmas Eve 5-Course Set Dinner priced at RM145+ per person is available at the semi fine dining Flavour@3 at Level 3.
The Light Hotel’s Christmas Winter Wonderland decor is inspired by the magic of the season. The brightly lit 12ft tall Christmas tree shimmers in the lobby while the igloo-like photo booth make for awesome Instagram moments.
Welcome carollers performing Christmas carols during the Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner. Santa Claus and Santarina will also make special appearances, bringing party favours and spreading festive cheer.
