Leh siong Lu, a teacher at sMK selirik, Kapit, sarawak, is an AeU graduate in Master of Education (MEd) with a concentration in science Education. she is also a recipient of the Chairman’s Award and school Award at AeU’s 8th Convocation.
Leh said, “i’m a strong believer in lifelong learning and self-development. i knew AeU from my friends and enrolled in the MEd programme due to the quality and flexible learning mode which i can study anytime from any geographical location. When i was transferred from Kapit, a rural district which had no road links to the main towns to teach in Kuching, i could easily study from Kuching through AeU’s online learning mode.”
“My MEd learning journey has been quite challenging yet memorable. i had to struggle with my two pregnancies’ prenatal and postnatal blues. i registered for my MEd programme during my first pregnancy. i started my first assignment during my first postnatal confinement where i also had to care for my baby and struggle with little sleep. My project paper was started during my second pregnancy and completed during my second postnatal confinement. During those periods, i was able to learn and complete all my assignments and project paper on time, thanks to myPLs, AeU’s personal learning system which made all that possible.
“My learning experiences in AeU has broadened my perspective as an educator. it is an unforgettable experience that provides me with new insights into my teaching career in various different aspects. The learning experiences steepen my learning growth curve in life. As i expand my mind through the learning process, the MEd programme gave me the keys to break barriers in my teaching career and helped me greatly in developing my expertise in the education field.
“it was a dream come true and i attribute my achievement to the encouragement and support from my parents and husband who rendered their help and assistance to care for my two daughters. Last but not least, i am also thankful to AeU’s academic facilitators, friendly staff and all those who have made my academic journey possible. i truly appreciate everyone’s effort and commitments to my success.”
AeU admission for its Master’s programmes is accessible through the regular entry and flexible entry via APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) for Malaysian candidates who are lacking in paper qualification requirements.
