Orange is hailed as the “colour city” because of its vivid sights and golden poplars. Come autumn, swathes of gold and bronze poplars line the streets, making it one of the best places in NSw to enjoy the season.

The place also has a thriving gourmet restaurant scene.

Just 20 minutes from the Sydney Central Business District is the Auburn Botanic Gardens.

The garden lights up during the annual Autumn Colours Festival that happens in late May. with enchanted mazes, fairy face painters and even a guided walking tour through the Japanese gardens, visitors have many activities to choose from.

Centennial Park

The Centennial Park, inspired by the Victorian era, was once declared by colonial Australian politician Henry Parkes as “one of the grandest adornments of Australia”. It offers vast open gardens, broad parklands, and statues dotting the greenery, with lots of empty benches and a view of the setting sun from the lake. The park is one of the most relaxing places to enjoy the autumn colours. But, if you’re looking for something more active to do, the Centennial Parklands Equestrian Centre next door lets you try horse-riding through the park. –
