CANADA is indeed a magical place. Snowy peaks, sweeping landscapes, maple syrup and, of course, axe throwing.

Yes, axe throwing. At least according to Forged Axe, an axe-throwing venue in Whistler, British Columbia, which says that Canada is responsible for this new “global phenomenon.”

“Quickly establishing itself as a sport in its own right, axe

throwing is Canada’s exciting alternative to darts,” Forged Axe says, claiming that the sport has resurged as a fun new group activity.

As visitors flock to the popular ski resort in Whistler, the town’s tourism industry is booming – and there are plenty of things to do when not on the piste. Axe throwing appears to be one of them.

At Forged Axe, you can choose to book an introductory hour at the venue, or go as a group and rent the whole place for two-anda-half or three hours.

And the great thing: This is a year-round activity, rain or shine, sun or snow.

If you find out that this is the sport for you, you can even do it more seriously and join the National Axe Throwing Federation (NATF) or become a regular competitor at your local axe-throwing bar.

Another option Forged Axe says is popular among visitors is “axe your ex” – the ultimate chance to throw an axe at a picture of your ex.
