-

NEED some quality study time? Here’s how you can make the most of your resources.

Pick a time

Everyone has his or her peak hour when the body and brain work best together. Figure out when your best time of day is.

If you learn best at dawn when the birds start to sing, make that your study time. If you like to work an hour after dinner, block that time for your books.

Build a sanctum

Create a space where you can focus and learn. Set up a good desk where everything is in reach.

Use a radio or sound system to block out unwanted noise, but make sure you play well-known stuff so the sounds do not distract you from your work.

Avoid rooms with televisions and other distractions.

Inform your friends

Now you have a regular study time and space, tell your friends they may not disturb you at those times. Be brutal about it – switch off your phone and don’t entertain any distractions. You are putting in time now to ensure a glorious future, so don’t let anyone sabotage you.

Limit study time

It sounds crazy but studying too much is counter-productive. Your brain can only take Put all your energy into your study sessions and then take some time to recharge the batteries. in a certain amount of information at a time. Trying to squeeze in too much in one sitting is futile; you’ll only become tired, confused, and frustrated.

Put all your energy into your study sessions and then take some time to recharge the batteries.

Start a study group

A regular study group session will provide you with a chance to go over notes, give and receive a little informal tutoring, and brush up the brain with some new ideas for projects and essays.

One note of caution – studying with pals is great but you don’t want to end up in a gossip session. Be ruthless with time wasters.
