Start your day with a positive attitude

-

GET into a positive frame of mind each morning with the help of these tips.

Rise and shine early

Wake up just after dawn when the air is fresh. Throw open the curtains to banish the darkness of the night and let the early morning light stream into the room.

Light helps to stimulate your brain, giving you a wake-up boost.

Shower with your favourite soap and shampoo

Once you’re done with your shower, moisturise your body. Being clean, fresh and scented will help you feel good.

If you’re still feeling a bit sluggish, put the water setting on cold during your shower to give yourself an extra jolt.

Wear your favourite look-good outfit for the day

If you do not have one, opt for something bright and energising that flatters your figure. When you look good, you feel good, so dress for that “I’m walking on sunshine” feeling. And if you have that soundtrack, be sure to play it.

Eat breakfast

Breakfast will give you energy without bloating or dragging you down.

Avoid heavy fried foods and opt for something healthy like oats with banana and a handful of nuts or grapefruit and yoghurt.

Go for a short brisk walk

Ten minutes of quick stepping exercises will get your body pumping without the hassle of a serious workout. If there is a park or riverfront nearby, feast your eyes on nature’s wonders.

If not, you can always take a walk in the mall. As long as you keep moving, it’s all good.
