Industry experts will share their knowledge and experience on current education and career topics to help students make more informed decisions.
With over two decades of experience in higher education and human capital development, SEGi University College principal and chief executive Cheah Teong Keat will touch on ‘Building your future with future skills’.
Learn about the ‘Foundation in Science: The principal pathway to your intended undergraduate studies’ from International Medical University’s Dr James Edward Walsh, who is the head and principal lecturer of the Centre for Pre-University Studies.
The Star Education Fund manager Susanna Kuan will share on ‘Education Fund’ which is offering 285 scholarships worth RM15.1mil from 32 institutions this year.
Equally interesting are ‘The quest for a real world holistic pharmacy education’ by Quest International University Perak’s Associate Prof Dr Long Chiau Ming and ‘Now to Future: Opportunities in design career’ by INTI International College Penang’s Johnny Wong.
The former is the deputy dean (Research, Postgraduate Studies, Strategic Linkages) of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the latter the dean of School of Engineering and Technology.
Melaka-Manipal Medical College consultant neurosurgeon Prof M. Nachiappan will cover ‘A career in medicine’ while Manipal International University dean of School of Management and Business Prof Dr Seena Biju on ‘Preparing for the real world’.
An experienced academician with finance as his core skill, Sentral College Penang director of studies and deputy principal Tan Peng Hooi will highlight ‘Education Techno’.
Other hot topics consist of ‘Engineering as an option’ by PSDC dean of School of Engineering Tham Kok Kee and ‘A Pharmacist’s role in public health’ by AIMST University deputy vice chancellor and dean of Faculty of Pharmacy Prof Dr Mohd Baidi Bahari.
Not to be missed are also ‘IT in YOU: Career in IT’ by Universiti Teknologi Petronas Associate Prof Dr Low Tan Jung and ‘Employability: Graduates readiness, industries expectation and future trends’ by Peninsula College Group president Prof Dr Ian Pashby.

Star Education Fund Established since 1994, the fund has benefitted 3,908 recipients with a total scholarship value of RM127.4mil.
Of the 32 partners-in-education, five are from the northern region — KDU Penang University College (offering 12 awards worth RM470,000), MSU College Penang (11 awards worth RM119,000), RUMC (one full-fee scholarship in medicine valued at RM628,000), Sentral College Penang (17 awards worth RM397,000) and Sunway College Ipoh (six awards worth RM173,000).
The fund comprises two tiers. Tier 1 scholarships are sponsored by The Star while Tier 2 scholarships are offered by the private educational institutions.
