X-Trail facelift ups the goodies
EDARAN Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) gave an early preview of the new facelifted X-Trail sports utility vehicle (SUV) for the media which now comes in four variants including the top-of-the-range hybrid version.
The variants are 2.0L 2WD, 2.0L 2WD MID, 2.5L 4WD and 2.0L Hybrid.
The facelifted X-Trail is due to be launched sometime next month and estimated prices for the 2.0L 2WD is just below RM139,900, 2.0L 2WD MID (below RM149,900), 2.5L 4WD (below RM159,900) and 2.0L Hybrid (below RM169,900).
It comes with five years unlimited mileage warranty (includes Hybrid parts and lithium ion HEV battery).
The 2.0L (MR20DD) Hybrid with Twin CVTC (Continuously Variablevalve Timing Control) engine paired with XTronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), produces an output of 144PS and 200Nm of torque while the output from the electric motor produces 41PS plus 160Nm of torque.
It also features the best-in-class fuel economy of 16.1km/L.
The Hybrid is a five-seater compared to the rest which are seven-seaters.
New to the facelift line-up are the revised signature ‘V-Motion’ front grille design, redesigned signature LED Boomerang Daytime Running Lights and Headlights, Smoked LED Boomerang Tail Lamps, 7-inch Navi Infotainment System with Apple Carplay and Android Auto ready, flat bottom steering Wheel with controls, dual power leather seats, leatherette dashboard and knee pads, and 5-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display.
Other safety features include Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold function, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Child Seat Retainer with Top Tether (ISOFIX x2).
Colours are Brilliant White, Tungsten Silver, Titanium Olive, Diamond Black and the new Imperial Umber.
The new X-Trail Facelift also comes with a 2-year or 40,000km periodic maintenance service (whichever comes first).
The X-Trail Facelift also gets a slew of features such as six SRS airbags, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM) with Moving Object Detection (I-MOD), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Motion Activated Power Tailgate (that operates by a simple quick kick below the tailgate to open or close it).
The 2.5L AWD and Hybrid comes with additional Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) and High Beam Assist (HBA).
The first 500 registered buyers will receive an exclusive gift worth RM488 with deliveries to start next month.
