Obtain a world-class dental degree
Penang International Dental College (PIDC), a boutique college offering the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) was established in 2006. The PIDC BDS is a five-year programme with students pursuing their first two years of Basic Sciences subjects at Mahsa University, Bandar Saujana Putra.
The remaining three years of Clinical Studies are conducted at PIDC, Penang. PIDC students are trained at Penang Hospital (Penang general Hospital) for their Medicine and Surgery subjects.
PIDC is Malaysia’s first standalone full-fledged dental college and specialist dental centre, which offers holistic dental care. The dental college which has been fully operational for the past 13 years offers subsidised dental treatment for the lower socio-economic and underprivileged groups.
The PIDC dental clinic has treated over 100,000 new and repeat patients since its establishment, thus giving its students wide exposure to patients, actual cases and real-world dental treatment.
The campus which is located at Jalan Bagan Luar, Butterworth, is easily accessible by public transport as the Penang Sentral bus station, the ferry terminal, jetty and the train station are all located within a 2km radius from the college.
More than 500 dentists have been trained by PIDC. The first batch graduated in april 2011. PIDC’s alumni have been successful in the field of dentistry and many have spread their wings beyond Malaysia.
a fair number of them are currently practising and pursuing their postgraduate studies overseas.
PIDC had obtained its Full accreditation (Fa) from the Malaysian Qualifications agency (MQa) in 2011. PIDC was the first private dental college to be given the full five years accreditation by the Ministry of Higher education, MQa and Malaysian Dental Council in 2013.
MyQuest is a college rating by the Ministry of education (Moe) which is reviewed periodically.
Since 2013, PIDC has consistently maintained the 5-Star MyQuest rating. For 2018, PIDC achieved the highest 6-Star MyQuest rating.
For its persistence to excel, The BrandLaureate’s Best Brand in education – Dental College was awarded to PIDC in the year 2016.
