-

KDU’s a-Level programme has a proven track record of consistent excellent performance where in the recent exam, more than 50% of the a-Level students managed to achieved straight a’s for their Cambridge a-Level examination.

It was a remarkable feat done by the students as in the previous year, about 44% of the students managed to achieve straight a’s in the examination.

at the same time, 70% of the students also managed to score at least 1a/1a* for the examination.

On top of that, the programme has managed to produce numerous Cambridge Outstanding Learner award winners in many subjects including accounting, Mathematics, Sociology and Literature in english.

established in 1983, and a pioneer in Malaysia’s private education, KDU’s pre-university programme of a-Level is the passport for students to gain entry into undergraduate degree programmes such as medicine, law, engineering and more.

The Cambridge assessment International education a-Level programme at KDU is one of the most accepted pre-university qualifications; not only aimed at imparting knowledge, it is also meant for developing the students’ skills set, confidence, character and integrity, all of which is to ensure the students have a smooth transition into university life and preparing them to meet challenges ahead.

Since its commencement, a-Level students at KDU have gained acceptance into some of the top universities in the world such as University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, University of Manchester, London School of economics, Imperial College in London, University of Melbourne, University of new South Wales, national University of Singapore, University of Sydney and King’s College in London.

The School of Pre-University Studies strives to provide the best and encouraging learning environment for the scholars.

The holistic learning experience provided by KDU’s School of Pre-University Studies has enabled the school to be chosen by Petronas as one of the pre-university pathway for their scholars.

The myriad of pre-university programmes and Cambridge assessment International educational (CaIe) a-Level has been the chosen pathway by Petronas and their scholars are bound to further their studies at either United Kingdom (UK) or Canada.

“The School of Pre-University Studies strives to provide the best and encouraging learning environment for the scholars.

“The school also helps the students not only to secure their grades, but also in IeLTS preparatory course and in university application,” said School of Business and Social Science and School of Pre-University Studies Head of School Dr Jenny Wong.

The partnership with Petronas officially started since 1997 and the number of Petronas scholars that enrolled in KDU’s a-Level programme have been steadily increasing over the years.

KDU has also recently introduced the Independent Project Qualification (IPQ) by Oxford International aQa exam Board, the largest academic qualification provider in UK.

IPQ will be a competitive advantage for A-Level students who wish to apply for top universities in the world.

IPQ helps the students to garner research skills, project planning and management skills, report writing skills, creative thinking and decision making skills, presentation and communication skills.

Research suggests that taking the IPQ can enhance students’ chances of achieving a higher grade A-Level by 29%.

This is part of the initiatives championed by KDU to increase the A-Level students’ entrance into top universities in the world.
