estABlisHed in 2000, swinburne’s fullfledged sarawak campus in Kuching offers professionally accredited and identical courses in business, engineering, computing, science and design as its main campus in Melbourne. As a result, graduates at the sarawak campus are awarded the same Australian qualifications that are recognised all over the world.

studying at the sarawak campus provides students with flexible transfer, exchange and study abroad options. students may transfer to the Melbourne campus as soon as year One of their degree programme is completed or choose to complete their entire degree in sarawak.

An attractive option for many students who want to experience Melbourne for a semester (six months) is to go on exchange where fees are paid in ringgit Malaysia at the sarawak campus instead of Australian dollars in the Melbourne campus. study abroad options are also available for students who want to experience life as a student in a different country for a semester.

A foundation course is a pre-university preparatory course which offers students a quicker and supportive pathway to pursuing undergraduate studies in their preferred discipline. the four foundation courses offered by swinburne’s school of Foundation are business, engineering and science, information technology and multimedia, as well as design.

Beginning April 2019, swinburne’ sarawak campus will begin offering the diploma of Business Management with a specialisation in management.

the two-and-a-half year programme will provide students with the knowledge and skills to enter the workforce or progress into a degree upon completion. it is an Australian diploma where students will gain worldwide recognition and it is offered at an attractive fee of rM29,000.

studying in Kuching is a preferred option for many students because of the easy connectivity from major cities with daily direct flights, the low cost of living and relaxed lifestyle in a safe environment.

you are able to enjoy many fun outdoor activities such as hiking, trekking, going to the beach, caving and a range of entertainment in the city with amazing food and friendly locals who speak english, Malay, Mandarin and a range of local dialects.

With on-campus and off-campus accommodation options, there is room for every budget and requirement.

the campus is centrally located and everything you need is within walking distance such as the spring shopping mall, Borneo Medical Centre, restaurants, banks and other amenities.

swinburne offers competitive internal scholarships and bursaries for all levels of studies. Among those being offered for foundation students are the Pro vice-Chancellor’s Academic excellence scholarship, deputy vice-Chancellor’s Academic excellence Award, Academic Progression scholarship, dean’s Outstanding youth Award, siblings rebate and Bumiputera Financial scheme.

For more information about scholarships offered by the university, refer to the website or contact the university.

starting from this year, all students will be able to enjoy an interest-free payment plan to pay their tuition fees over 10 interest-free instalments annually. the plan is available to all students pursuing all levels of study at swinburne and an application can be made upon enrolment.

Application is now open for enrolment into swinburne’s 2019 foundation and diploma intake. Classes will commence on April 8.
