Levi’s celebrates the power of women in its latest global campaign.
IN celebration of International Women’s Day (March 8), Levi’s launched a campaign paying tribute to strong female figures. It invited women to share their compelling stories to the world.
The initiative journeyed across Malaysia to capture the untold stories of various women who have fearlessly taken charge of their own lives and transformed their eventual destinies.
Sonya Danita Charles for instance, spoke about the challenges of living with vitiligo since eight years old. Her rare condition, where the skin loses pigmentation in patches, has always caused her to be the subject of unwanted stares.
Yet, she has overcome it all. Walking the runway at KL Fashion Week last year, Sonya has proven that beauty is indeed, subjective – and those who are prejudiced can never bring her down.
Another woman, Anita Yusof has broken conventions by becoming the first Muslim female biker to travel solo around the globe.
She packed her bags in 2015, then bravely made her way across a total of 40 countries over four continents.
Unapologetic and fearless in her pursuit of doing what she loves, Anita has shown everyone that taking charge of one’s own life is not limited by age, or societal expectations.
“Levi’s is proud to lend a platform for the risk-takers and change-makers who are not afraid of standing up, speaking out and reshaping the world for women everywhere,” said Imran Butt, country manager of Levi Strauss Malaysia.
“The ‘I Shape My World’ movement is a platform for women to share their compelling stories, crafting a narrative to celebrate ‘her’ choices that ultimately shapes her world.”
