SEPTEMBER has ended. Wake up to a slew of new shows coming to the small screen this month:

Living With Yourself

Tired of just going through the motions, Miles decides to go to a spa to recharge and hopefully discover a better version of himself there. And boy does he get what he asked for!

He walks out of the spa with two versions of himself – the better, improved version that he wanted, and his original, unhappy self.

But there’s only one life to live. So the two Miles begin to jostle for the chance to live out that life. Paul Rudd plays the dual role.

Living With Yourself premieres Oct 18 on Netflix.

The Cry

Scotland-based couple Alistair and Joanna just welcomed their first child Noah together.

Alistair, who’s originally from Australia, decides to return to his hometown to introduce the newborn to the rest of his family.

In a devastating turn of events, Noah is abducted, turning their whole world upside down. Starring Jenna Coleman and Ewen Lewis.

The Cry premieres Oct 11 on BBC Player.

Catherine The Great

Born Princess Sophie to a ruling German family, Catherine The Great married the heir to the Russian throne, Peter III.

Just six months after Peter took his place as emperor, Catherine organised a military coup and overthrew her husband. She made herself empress and went on to become Russia’s longest-ruling empress.

This four-part series captures the final days of her reign and her relationship with Russian military leader Grigory Potemkin.

Starring Helen Mirren, Jason Clarke and Thomas Doherty.

Catherine The Great premieres Oct 22 at 10am on HBO (Astro Ch 411).

Empire Season Six

The ups, the downs and the downright dramatic – all the things that we’ve come to associate with the Lyon household – will be coming to an end after six seasons.

The musical series follows the professional and (very) personal lives of the Lyons, who run a music empire. In this new season, viewers catch up with the fate of founders Lucious and Cookie.

The former is now a fugitive on the run, while the latter is hosting a talk show. Stick around to find out if the show ends on a high note. Starring Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard.

Empire Season Six airs every Wednesday at 10pm on Foxlife (Astro Ch 711).

The Sand Princess

The wealthy Ji hires struggling college student Kot to run errands for him. Things take a dramatic turn when Ji gets a girl pregnant and she leaves the baby in his care. He hires Kot yet again – this time to be mother to his child!

The 15-episode Thai drama stars March Chutavuth Pattarakampol and Baifern Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul.

The Sand Princess is available on dimsum.
