Pledge for a BRIGHTER FUTURE

-

“Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV 2030) is the turbo-charger to engineer sustainable economic growth and to let us soar to a higher income economy with higher purchasing power.

“The government is confident that the objectives of SPV 2030 can be achieved by greater economic complexity focusing on highimpact and high-technology industries such as aerospace, digital economy and hi-tech agriculture.

“The stability and integrity of the administration in defending good governance will provide confidence to the foreign and domestic investors to park in Malaysia as their main investment destination and will create more job opportunities in new sectors which are more innovative with high technology.

“Our hope is in our youths. SPV 2030 stimulates imagination, creativity and skills of the millennial generation to bring Malaysia to be a landmark of industrial excellence.

“In our hunt for industrial excellence, the Pakatan Harapan government will not ignore the responsibility to defend the poor and the lower income groups among the rural and urban communities.

“SPV 2030 guarantees that the prosperity and wealth will be enjoyed by them.

“Poverty is a humanity issue close to the heart of Pakatan Harapan. Therefore, SPV 2030 will be based on growth and creation of the wealth, targeted to eradicate poverty and free the poor from suffering and hardship.

“The government is committed and we will do anything it takes to reach this objective to raise their status and dignity.

“Turning SPV 2030 into a reality needs boldness, dedication and sincerity.

“The Economic Affairs Ministry will monitor the implementation and development of SPV 2030 to ensure it will reach its honourable objective. However, SPV 2030 will only succeed with the wholesome support of Malaysians.

“The people and the government must work together to ensure the prosperity of the country is enjoyed by all Malaysians, be they in Sabah and Sarawak, or the Peninsula; be they rural or urban communities, be they farmers, fishermen, workers, taxi drivers, professionals and of course, the undergraduates and the youths.”

(Speech delivered by Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali during the launch of SPV 2030 on Oct 5, 2019)
