Giving back to society

-

PENANG International Dental College (PIDC) has always believed in giving back to society. It started this concept right from the day it was established in 2006.

As one of the pioneer dental colleges in Malaysia, it kept its tuition fees reasonable and, until today, it remains one of the most affordable dental schools in the country.

In 2008, PIDC established its dental hospital in Butterworth, Penang, to provide dental services to the public at a heavily subsidised cost. This resulted in over 150,000 cases, or more than 39,000 patients, being treated.

In order to bring oral healthcare closer to the public and educate the public on oral hygiene, PIDC also conducted more than 100 dental camps in Penang and many areas in peninsular Malaysia. At these camps, patients are screened and given the appropiate oral hygiene advice by dentists and dental specialists. Those who require further treatment are referred to the nearest dental facility or are given further treatment at PIDC.

In 2017, PIDC began directly offering scholarships to deserving candidates to pursue its dental degree programme. PIDC hopes that these students will, in return, contribute to society after graduating and becoming qualified dentists. PIDC’S scholarship programme was offered last year as well.

For this year’s placement, PIDC is offering scholarships for high achievers from deserving families.
