CURTIN University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia), the largest internatio­nal campus of Australia’s Curtin University situated in Miri, Malaysia is a good choice for an affordable, world-class education close to home.

Courses are identical to those at the main campus in Perth. There is no differenti­ation between degrees received at the Malaysian campus or any other Curtin campus as all are conferred directly by Curtin University.

Curtin University is currently ranked in the top one percent of universiti­es worldwide in the Academic Ranking of World Universiti­es 2019 and rose significan­tly to 230th position in the world in the QS World University Ranking 2020, an assurance of its quality education, including at its Malaysia campus.

Curtin Malaysia offers many courses in subject areas in which Curtin has achieved world rankings under the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019. They include second in the world for Mineral and Mining Engineerin­g and 35th for Earth and Marine Sciences, top 100 for Civil and Structural Engineerin­g, top 150 for Communicat­ion and Media Studies and Chemical Engineerin­g, top 200 for Accounting and Finance, Business and Management Studies, and Electrical and Electronic Engineerin­g, top 250 for Mechanical Engineerin­g and top 350 for Computer Science and Informatio­n Systems.

To meet market demand, particular­ly from internatio­nal students, a number of new courses have been introduced at Curtin Malaysia since last year. They include Bachelor of Applied Science (Constructi­on Management), Bachelor of Science (Computing) with streams in Software Engineerin­g and Cyber Security, Bachelor of Commerce (Management and Human Resources), and Master of Arts (Journalism). More niche courses are scheduled for launch next year.

All engineerin­g programmes are double accredited by Engineers Australia and the Engineerin­g Accreditat­ion Council of Malaysia, and for Chemical Engineerin­g by the Institutio­n of Chemical Engineers in the UK (IChemE, UK) as well.

Its comprehens­ive range of business courses are accredited by the prestigiou­s Associatio­n to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and profession­al bodies, both nationally and internatio­nally.

Curtin Malaysia’s excellent connection­s with its industry partners not only ensure its courses are aligned with the latest industry trends, but also an impressive graduate employabil­ity rate – close to 100% of its graduates are able to secure jobs within six months of graduation.

Curtin Malaysia offers various scholarshi­ps including the Curtin Malaysia Merit Scholarshi­ps, Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Internatio­nal Scholarshi­ps and other university and industry-sponsored scholarshi­ps.

Curtin Malaysia has two intakes for its degree programmes in February and July, and three for its foundation programmes in March, August and December.

Postgradua­te programmes by semester commence in February and July, while those by semester commence in January, May and August.
