Giuseppe Zanotti launches limitededition heels inspired by neelofa.
WHAT is it like walking in the shoes of a fashion icon like Neelofa? Well, now you can find out – well, sort of. Giuseppe Zanotti has designed an exclusive collection for the Malaysian personality.
The two styles are currently available at the Giuseppe Zanotti boutique in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. They have been launched as part of the Italian footwear brand’s Spring/summer 2020 collection.
“I’ve always carried myself as an assertive, tenacious, modern woman and that’s exactly what Giuseppe Zanotti has portrayed in the collection. It represents me and countless other women who dare to be bold,” Neelofa says in an interview.
When asked, she goes on to describe the designer as “very
charismatic, driven and a very welcoming person”. Neelofa met Zanotti in Paris in June to discuss the finer details of the creations.
It was their second meet up after she made an appearance at the Giuseppe Zanotti Autumn/ Winter 2019 collection Milan presentation in February. In September, the pair met again at the Spring/summer 2020 collection.
“We met for a few hours to brainstorm ideas for the recreation of the heels. He had brought multiple samples in the form of heels, materials, sketches and we carefully thought everything through,” Neelofa reveals.
The “Dazzling Liza For Neelofa” features a light blue suede encrusted with iridescent crystals, while the “Mirror Liza For Neelofa” is wrapped in a shiny metallic leather, striking a bold finish.
Neelofa is known for her flawless style and has made a name for herself as one of Malaysia’s fashion icons. Apart from being an actress, she owns her own fashion label named Naelofar Hijab.
“Shoes are an essential part of my style. It’s a way of expressing and showcasing your identity rathe than just mere function. A good pair of shoes can really add volume and a great dynamic to your entire outfit.”
