-

LISTENED to Schanuril’s Sumpahan from the upcoming telemovie Misteri Bilik Bawah yet? Introducing Management and Science University (MSU) music technology student Mohammad Nuqman Zharfan Mohd Fairuz as the song’s recording engineer.

Still in his final semester of Diploma in Music Technology programme at MSU’s School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA), Mohammad Nuqman’s potential was spotted during an internship.

He was encouraged to try out for the recording engineer position at Melody Central Production – producer of the telemovie’s original sound track – and his career in recording engineering was launched.

Why music technology?

Growing up surrounded by music, Mohammad Nuqman’s initial interest crescendoed into a real passion for music over time. Pursuing music technology at a university was the ideal path for him.

From there, he has developed as a student, a person and now a member of the workforce in his beloved world of music, proving MSU to be another great choice.

Where to from here?

For now, his main focus is still on his studies; taking in all the knowledge and using all the learning experiences at MSU to grow in the field.

As he aims to be one of the finest live-sound music engineers in the country, Mohammad Nuqman hopes to eventually branch out and make a name for himself internationally.

His inspiration in life

His family has always been supportive from the moment he showed an interest in music, providing him with everything he needed such as musical instruments and equipment. They have been the ones behind his decision to pursue music technology. Their trust in his ability is the reason he has persevered with his dreams.

The words he lives by

“Don’t stop, don’t give up” is what Mohammad Nuqman always tells himself whenever he encounters anything unpleasant. He explains that not everything in life comes easy, but one must never give up in order to find the light at the end of the tunnel.

He added, “The journey may not always be nice, but the destination is the ultimate prize worthy of your effort.”

For others interested in pursuing music technology at a university, he offers the following advice:

“Reach deep down into your heart and find your reason. If the answer is interest and passion, then go for it because you will strive to be the best.

“Passion mixed with smart, hard work writes a melodious song of success.”

Why MSU?

Mohammad Nuqman notes that MSU is a great place to learn and grow as students will have the best opportunities to expand their talents and abilities, with guidance by great educators and a great array of facilities – which for Mohammad Nuqman would be the music studio and its quality equipment. Everything at MSU is done to help students succeed in their chosen field.
