Inspired by that 90s look
IN the wake of collaborations with Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, MAC Cosmetics has called on a daring new artist and advocate of self-assertiveness to design a new limited-edition makeup collection.
This collaboration sees MAC Cosmetics joining forces with the multi-talented artist Teyana Taylor for its next makeup collection.
It is a 1990s-inspired multi-product collaboration, which is set to go on sale this month, and will be exclusively available from Maccosmetics.com.
The American singer and dancer, who has also made waves in the worlds of modelling and film, will supervise all the details of the new line of beauty essentials, from the colours to the packaging and the names of the products. As it stands, MAC Cosmetics has not yet disclosed specific information on the products to be created by the partnership, however, it has been reported that Taylor and her team have been working on the collection, which draws its inspiration from the 1990s, for more than a year.
“I was inspired by the 90s and the heart and soul of Harlem, and wanted to show that through the shades and packaging. I’m very excited to be partnering with a company like MAC who I’ve watched collaborate with strong women of colour over the years. I’ve been a fan of MAC ever since I was 15 years old and started experimenting with makeup, it was the first brand that made me like makeup,” said Taylor in a statement.
