Chocolates galore
DON’T we all love chocolates? There are many types of chocolates in the world and they come in all shapes and sizes. I grew up enjoying milk chocolate, white chocolate and chocolates filled with fruit and nuts. My favourtites are the orange-flavoured Cadbury Zip chocolate, Crispy chocolate cereal bars and Quality Street chocolates which come individually wrapped in colourful wrappers. Have you tried any of these treats?
World Chocolate Day is celebrated annually on July 7. It is a day for chocolate lovers to celebrate their passion for one of the world’s favourite treats.
Recently Starchild asked readers to send in their letters on the topic, Chocolates. Here’s what they had to say.
“I like eating white chocolate as I love the way it melts in my mouth and it’s so delicious,” writes Saira Abigail Terence,
eight.
Seven-year-old Ashvini Jeyakanthan
enjoys eating chocolates because chocolate tastes yummy and sweet. “Chocolate milk is my favourite drink. I love all sorts of chocolate especially those in the shape of eggs and little chocolate pieces with colourful sugar coating. Kinder Joy and M&MS are my favourites.”
Flora Sia, 10, writes: “I love to eat chocolate even though it is not good for my teeth.”
“I love caramel chocolates, dark chocolate and white chocolate. Chocolate comes from the seeds of the cacao plant. On its own, chocolate is bitter. Caramel was invented in France by a chocolatier
named Henri Le Roux in the 1960s,” says
Sanjay Kumaran, eight.
“My favourite types of chocolates are milk chocolate and dark chocolate because they tastes milky, sweet and heavenly,” writes Piong Jing Wan, seven.
Saraneya Jay Kumar, eight, says: “My favourite chocolate is Kinder Joy’s chocolate-covered wafer bits. Eating chocolates makes me happy. Do you know chocolates melt at room temperature?”
