NS Bluescope Malaysia annually assists the nation through its reroofing initiatives and notes that the recent spike in requests spurred the launch of the #Roofingourcommunities movement.
The company’s latest initiative sees it pledging roof repair services for underprivileged homes and community buildings from now to Dec 21, 2021.
NS Bluescope Malaysia country president Koh Boon Hong said: “Strength is choosing to do what is right with what we do best.
“Having a proper shelter especially during the rainy season is a basic and essential right but unfortunately, there are still those who are deprived of this need.
“With this initiative, we pledge to continuously contribute to the well-being of our communities.”
In a bid to uplift these communities, the company also aims to bring forth improvements to the lives of the people in communities that it operates in along with its official partners such as NS Bluescope Lysaght Malaysia, Swissma Building Technologies, United Seasons, DMI Building Products, Asia Roofing Industries, Le Nam Megasheet, Kextra Malaysia, Thung Hing Metal Industry, United G.I Products and official media ACG Media.
The project would include standalone houses, kampung houses, orphanage homes, homes for the elderly and community buildings such as community halls, Rukun Tetangga and clinics.
“We believe having proper shelter means more than just having a roof over your head. The technology we invested into our steel roofs such as solar heat reduction and self-cleaning technology help enhance living comfort and durable use, and these are meant for everyone to enjoy,” said NS Bluescope Malaysia marketing vice president Ken Wong.
Furthermore, NS Bluescope Malaysia also intends to educate homeowners on the importance of roofing right for the season.
For instance, when living in a tropical paradise like Malaysia, a typical hot day would have us either turning on the air conditioning or equipping ourselves with as many fans as we can get hold of.
The brand shared that while we often hear the expression or opinion that a house with a steel roof makes for a hot and humid home, a well-insulated steel roof with its Colorbond steel’s Thermatech technology would be able to reduce roof surface temperature of up to 6°C.
