LIFE starts... at any age, really, and that is what the Be A Star After 50 campaign by Star Media Group and NUTREN® Optimum by Nestlè Health Science (NHSC) is all about. The campaign aims to celebrate Malaysians over 50 who refuse to let age(ing) get in the way of leading a fulfilling life.

Our news feeds are filled with inspiring stories about those in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond who are breaking barriers – there are people who start a career in their 60s, go back to university in their 70s, run marathons in their 80s and dance through their 90s!

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, be a part of this age-affirming campaign.

The Be A Star After 50 Campaign is open to all Malaysians over 50 who are exemplary role models in four “pillars” (which form the acronym STAR): Sporty (those who are active), Tenderhearted (involved in charitable/community work), Ambitious (learning new skills, trying new experiences), Radiant (care for their health and wellness).

Head of Cluster (MYSG) at Nestlé Health Science, Jason Jezewski said, “There remains a stigma surrounding ageing, with many believing that they are past the prime of their lives once they hit their 50s. On the contrary, we believe that your 50s is the start of a brand new chapter, and it should be celebrated as you now have the mental maturity, stability and time to fulfil life-long dreams.

“On this note, NUTREN Optimum is pleased to support this campaign, as it is an excellent platform to highlight the many successes that Malaysians over 50 continue to achieve as they grow older.

“By inviting Malaysians to submit their success stories to the Be A Star After 50 contest, highlighting STAR moments of Sporty, Tenderhearted, Ambitious or Radiant people, we hope that it will inspire others to celebrate healthy ageing and experience life to the fullest.

“This is also part of Nestlé Health Science’s aspirations to encourage Malaysians to take care of themselves as they grow older to ensure that they are able to live optimally and with vitality.”

The campaign will end on Nov

15. To enter, post a photo(s) or video(s) of yourself being a Star on Facebook or Instagram. Your video submissions must not exceed one minute.

In your caption, write a summary in not more than 50 words on why you are a Star after the age of 50.

You must include these hashtags in your caption – #Beastarafter50, #Nestlehealthsciencemy, #Nutrenoptimum and #Starmediagroup.

Submit your entries at bit.ly/ beastarafter50. Make sure your social media profiles are set to public. The winners will be announced on Nov 24.

All 12 finalists will receive a Certificate of Merit and Nutren Optimum Product Hampers. Grand prize winners will be featured in digital videos too.

You can submit entries under more than one pillar. However, each entry per category must have its own post on your social media. For example, if you enter both the Sporty and the Ambitious categories, you will have to post two separate photos or videos on your feed.

There will also be two public webinars during the campaign period (scheduled for Sept 23 and Oct 27) on topics related to positive ageing. Make sure to look out for more information on the webinars as the dates draw near.
