SHARING MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL CHEER

AeON Win Big or Go Home game show brings a smile to people.

WITH AEON, the mid-autumn festival this year has been about the gift of sharing.

The popular retailer created the Win Big or Go Home game show-inspired competition in which every episode offered fans of the show and shoppers incredible free giveaways and irresistible deals.

Participants on Win Big or Go Home pitched their salesmanship skills against one another on the nine-episode show from Aug 13 to Sept 8, hosted by the popular celebrity host and DJ K.K. Wong. Each episode was held at an AEON store in the Klang Valley and streamed live on Facebook.

On the game show, the 11 contestants who are influencers in social media with a collective following of 29,500 shared with the audience current mid-autumn festival trends and recommended the mooncake brands, flavours and variants available for purchase via the FB Live stream or at the venues where the event took place.

Wong and celebrity guests model icon Amber Chia and showbiz personality Madam Kee aka Gary Yap’s presence on Win Big or Go Home added glitz to the show – generating a large fan base and garnering more than 270,000 views.

Wong’s charisma as host drove the sale of mooncakes, of which proceeds were channelled by AEON to provide foodstuff, mooncakes, household cleaning items and wellness products worth over RM15,000 to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-anak Yatim dan OKU Mesra in Petaling Jaya, and Pertubuhan J/K Pengurusan Orang-orang Tua in Seri Kembangan.

This act of charity brought some cheer to the 20 senior citizens and 45 people with disabilities at these two centres run by NGOs.

At the Win Big or Go Home finals on Sept 8 staged at AEON Alpha

Angle, Ryan Choo Kai Shuen was adjudged the grand prize winner, Annie Yee was runner up, while consolation prizes were won by JKit, Hakka Moy and Wa Ge – all of whom went home with cash prizes amounting to RM15,000, and pleasant memories of being part of game show.

AEON general manager of marketing strategy and communications Jason Foo and head of trade procurement (foodline) Magdelene Soon found that the game show

has enabled the retailer to build a closer rapport with its customers.

After more than two years of arduous journey to normalcy since the pandemic was declared, events like Win Big or Go Home has given the people something fun to smile or laugh about. And to show that old folks and disabled people are not forgotten.

The question remains: Will there bea Win Big or Go Home 2.0?

Let’s wait and see, says AEON. Till then, share the love.
