Chinese actress Zhang Zifeng and K-pop group aespa are the latest celebrities to make the jump into the luxury fashion sphere.
The global fashion industry is seen continuing its efforts to recruit celebrities from this side of the world. Two big names from Asia have emerged as the latest faces fronting a luxury brand.
Chopard recently announced Chinese actress Zhang Zifeng and K-pop group Aespa as brand ambassadors.
Both Zifeng and the members of Aespa will star in upcoming campaigns by the luxury jeweller.
Aespa is said to have caught the eye of the Chopard co-president and artistic director, Caroline Scheufele. Aespa’s Karina, Giselle, Winter and NingNing were described in a press release as having “youth, creativity and abundant energy”.
The name Aespa is derived from the initials of “avatar” and “experience”, plus a combination with the word “aspect”. Since making its debut in November 2020, the group’s hit single Black Mamba entered four Billboard charts within only three days. Aespa later continued its success with the singles Next Level and Savage.
In July, the group’s second mini-album Girls peaked at No.3 on the Billboard album chart, the Billboard 200.
In 2022, Aespa received an invitation to take the main stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. There, the girls wowed fans with an energetic performance. Further attesting to its growing international popularity, Aespa became the first K-pop girl group to perform on the opening stage for ABC’s Good Morning America summer series concert.
The girls were also seen making a meaningful speech at the UN 2022 high-Level Forum on Sustainable Development.
Zhang’s resume reads just as impressive.
As a new generation actress born in 2001, she has played various roles in films and television series including Aftershock, My Sister ,and Last Letter.
Widely acclaimed for her subtle and layered performances, she has impressed audiences and won a number of prestigious awards including the hundred Flowers Award for Best New Actress and the Golden Deer Award of
Changchun China Film Festival for Best Actress.
She was also nominated for the Golden horse Award in the Best Supporting Actress category.
In her daily life, Zhang is said to be a confident and independent young woman who is ready to embrace unknown challenges while being brave enough to be true to herself and her style.
