APPIES Malaysia marketing awards now open

-

FOLLOWING a brilliant debut last year, the highly acclaimed APPIES Malaysia awards showcasing the best communications campaigns in the country, is back.

The two-day event, organised by Marketing magazine, will be held in Kuala Lumpur early next month and celebrates the most inspirational campaigns in marketing communications.

APPIES Malaysia rewards outstanding campaigns with the highly coveted APPIES Medals.

However, it goes beyond conventional award programmes, providing a leading knowledge-exchange platform as it includes special events such as keynote sessions and discussions on relevant industry topics.

“What also sets APPIES Malaysia apart from other events is that each featured campaign is presented to a live audience in a casestudy format, and then you can even ask questions,” says Marketing magazine publisher and APPIES Malaysia president Harmandar Singh.

Thirty six marketing campaigns are presented by their brand marketers or campaign creators in an interactive format comprising a four-minute creative reel summarising the campaign, followed by a six-minute oral presentation. Finally, the presenter will field questions from judges and the audience in a 20-minute question and answer session.

“The awards showcase the best campaigns, presenting an unparalleled opportunity to learn, network and celebrate with some of the brightest minds in marketing.

“Winners of APPIES Malaysia 2017 automatically qualify as finalists for the Asia-Pacific APPIES 2017 with a special rate to enter the Asia-Pacific level,” he explains.

Both communications agencies and corporates are welcome to submit their entries by June 6. Entrant campaigns must have run anytime between April 1, 2016 and May 31, 2017.

The six categories are Consumer Durables, Consumer Services, Food and Beverage, Non-Food FMCG, Business Services, as well as Government, Cultural, Social and Environmental campaigns.

Led by chief judge of Unilever chairman for Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos, Rakesh Mohan, entries will be judged by a panel of 30 top judges: a C-suite A-list of the who’s who in Malaysia’s marketing industry.

Keynote speakers include Rakesh Mohan, Courts Asia group CEO Terry D O’Connor and GoCar COO Alan Cheah. Entry forms and more information about the awards can be found at www.appies.com.my
