AI takes centre stage at PHD Malaysia event

-

ARTIFICIAL intelligence (AI) was one of the subjects explored at PHD Malaysia’s recent ‘Predestination’ event in Kuala Lumpur, which takes notes from PHD’s 2016 thought leadership book, ‘Predestination: Where we are all heading’

Technological forces such as AI will supplant many of the roles that exist in the industry today and will lead the way to new opportunities and ideas.

The book builds on PHD’s collaboration with visionary and Wired magazine founder Kevin Kelly, author of ‘The Inevitable’, who partnered with PHD at last year’s Cannes Lions to explore the tech trends.

Kelly said in a statement: “By understanding and embracing these forces, we will be able to remain on top of the coming wave of changes and arrange our day-to-day relationships with technology in ways that will bring maximum benefits”.

The event featured keynote speakers PHD Malaysia head Eileen Ooi and its head of strategy and platforms Jessey Chew, head of strategy and platforms, who explored the emerging trends and their impact on the way businesses will be managed in the future.

Speaking about the event, Ooi said: “We see a future where AI complements human knowledge and experience.

“A future where AI predicts consumer needs will help us better understand and communicate with clients to offer impactful solutions.”

Meanwhile, Omnicom Media Group CEO for Malaysia and Singapore, Ranga Somanathan added:

“As new technological forces take over, the human element plays an even more important role.

“While AI algorithms do the grunt of the work, it is us who add real value by addressing real life problems with technology”.
