KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd has launched the all-new Honda CR-V SUV with an expected sales target of 700 units per month.

The company is also on track to meet its annual sales target of 100,000 units.

Managing director and chief executive officer Katsuto Hayashi said 2017 has proven to be a busy year for Honda Malaysia as it has launched the all-new models of BR-V, City as well as Jazz and Jazz Hybrid.

“The year started with the launch of the BR-V in January that received overwhelming market acceptance.

“We successfully achieved close to 11,000 units in sales for this model in the first half of 2017, exceeding our yearly target of 10,000 units,” he said.

He added that following the introduction of the BR-V, the company launched the City in March with monthly sales target of 2,000 units.

As of today, about 12,000 units of City have been registered, and the sales pace is at 150% compared to its target.

Hayashi said Honda Malaysia introduced another exciting product, the Jazz and Jazz Sport Hybrid i-DCD in June.

“This model was also warmly welcomed by Malaysians, with about 1,300 units booked in just two weeks,” he said.

With the introduction of these three mod- els and other existing models, Honda Malaysia has recorded about 52,000 registrations from January to June.

“Looking at our stable pace of sales progress, we are confident of achieving our 2017 annual target of 100,000 units by the end of this year,” said Hayashi.

The new Honda CR-V, now in its 5th gener- ation, features an all-new look with advanced safety technology called Honda Sensing, and 1.5 litre VTEC turbocharged engine.

It is available in four variants in 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive configurations and prices start at RM142,400 to RM167,700 (prices are without insurance and inclusive of goods and services tax).
