PETALING JAYA: Ahead of the listing of its plantation and property divisions, Sime Darby Bhd has announced the full line-up of the new boards and senior leadership for the two pure plays.

The company said the boards of Sime Darby Plantation Bhd and Sime Darby Property Bhd would comprise 11 directors upon listing, a majority of whom will be independent non-executive directors.

The company also told Bursa Malaysia that the relevant applications for the proposed listing were submitted to the Securities Commission yesterday.

In July, the company announced the top leadership for the three soon-to-be separate listed entities, which saw Tan Sri Dr Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah being named as chairman for the new and leaner Sime Darby, and Jeffri Salim Davidson as president and group chief executive.

Among board members for the new Sime Darby Plantation, under the leadership of chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Othman, will be Datuk Mohamad Nasir Ab Latif, Datuk Mohd Nizam Zainordin, Zainal Abidin Jamal, Tan Sri Dr Yusof Basiran, Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan, Muhammad Lutfi, Datuk Che Abdullah @ Rashidi Che Omar and Tan Ting Min.

As earlier announced, Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh will be executive deputy chairman and managing director, while chief adviser and value officer will be Datuk Franki Anthony Dass with Renaka Ramachandran as chief financial officer.

The company named Mohamad Helmy Othman Basha as chief operating officer - upstream, and Mohd Haris Mohd Arshad as COO - downstream, while Dr Simon Lord was named chief sustainability officer and Dr Harikrishna Kulaveerasingam as head of research and development.

As for Sime Darby Property, under the leadership of chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar, the board members will include Datuk Rohana Mahmood, Tengku Datuk Seri Ahmad Shah Alhaj ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj, Datuk Johan Ariffin, Datuk Jaganath Derek Steven Sabapathy, Datuk Dr Mohd Daud Bakar, Datuk Seri Ahmad Johan Mohammad Raslan and Datin Nor Azah Mohamed Razali.

It was announced earlier that Datuk Seri Amrin Awaluddin would be the MD and Datuk Tong Poh Keow will be executive director and CFO.

The senior management include Datuk Wan Hashimi Albakri Wan Ahmad Amin Jaffri as chief operating/transformation officer, Dr Tan Kok Heng as CEO of Sime Darby Real Estate Management and head of property investment, Zaharudin Sa’at as senior general manager, township development, Chong Chee On as senior general manager, development services and Clare Louise Kenny Tipton as chief marketing and sales officer.

Sime Darby’s current chairman, Abdul Ghani, said the new members of the two boards and the senior management had the experience and expertise to spearhead the businesses during the present challenging times.

“We are confident they will grow the companies into stronger entities to generate sustainable returns for all stakeholders,” he said.

The corporate restructuring exercise, expected to be completed by the end of the year, aims at unlocking the value of these business divisions for the company and its investors.
