AmInvestment Bank wins Best Sukuk House award

PETALING JAYA: AmInvestment Bank Bhd was awarded the Best Sukuk House at the seventh Global Islamic Finance Awards 2017 (GIFA).

The Global Islamic Finance Awards, held on Sept 6 in Kazakhstan, recognises the most outstanding players around the world in Islamic finance and banking.

AmBank Group group CEO Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir said in a statement that the award further underscored the Islamic finance expertise and capabilities that the bank had built over the years.

“It is truly an honour for all of us at AmBank to receive this international recognition for the first time and it is also a prestigious addition to our many awards and accolades received this year,” he said.

The GIFA was organised for the seventh time by Edbiz Corp, an international syariah advisory firm based in London.

AmInvestment Bank chief executive officer Raja Teh Maimunah Raja Abdul Aziz said: “We are honoured to receive the ‘Best Sukuk House of the Year 2017’ award from GIFA.

“This recognition reaffirms our capability to leverage on our position as a leading sukuk house that continuously reinforces its pole position in innovations in the realm of Islamic finance.”
