Sanichi unit partners MNC in online rental service

KUALA LUMPUR: Sanichi Technology Bhd’s unit, Sanichi Property Sdn Bhd (SPSB) and MNC Wireless Bhd (MNC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide online leasing, or short-term rental service, for SPSB's development project, Marina Point in Klebang, Melaka.

Marina Point is a mixed-development freehold service residence and retail mall with a gross development value of RM230mil.

In a joint statement the companies said under the MoU, MNC would lease, upgrade, market and operate the 120 units of the dual-key Marina Point units of the homestays from SPSB, which has a special leaseback agreement with its individual unit buyers at the point of sales for the next 10 years after the completion of the project.

“MNC will develop and deploy its marketing operation via online community marketplace for travellers to book the units via a webbased and mobile application, giving lucrative rental income to all stakeholders, including the new landlords at Marina Point,” it said.

Sanichi managing director Datuk Seri Pang Chow Huat said he was confident of the Marina Point project, given its proximity to Dataran Melaka, Impression City, China Port, Melaka Airport and 30 minutes away from North South Highway, that it would benefit unit owners of Marina Point.

MNC executive director Christopher Tan Chor How said the demand and supply gap of hospitality in Melaka held golden opportunity.

“MNC believes that this alliance will contribute positively to its bottom-line, given that online leasing or short-term rental service is the newest in-trend services that is sought-after.”
