Maybank wins top ASNB awards
PETALING JAYA: Malayan Banking Bhd emerged as the overall winner in the ASNB Starz Awards Nite 2017, an event held by government-linked asset manager Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) to honour Malaysian individuals and organisations for their work in growing the unit trust industry.
Organised by PNB’s unit trust company, Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) for the fourth consecutive year, the country’s largest bank by assets won the three main awards – bagging the Top Starz Award as the best performance with the highest cumulative points obtained for all categories; PNB Award as the highest performing agent for all ASNB products as well as the Best Managed ASNB Agent for being the best agent in handling their branches for ASNB transactions.
Congratulating the winners, PNB group chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar said in a press statement: “We are pleased to recognise and reward these individuals and finan- cial institutions for their passion and commitment to achieving PNB and ASNB’s aspirations. They have truly excelled in their respective roles and delivered commendable performances.”
AmBank (M) Bhd won the Inspirational Star Award for Best New Performing Agent.
The bank’s group chief executive officer Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir said the award was strong recognition for AmBank and the efforts made by the team.
“Winning always motivates you to do more. “Recognising people’s hard work who put a lot of effort means a great deal to them. We have only been doing this for less than a year, imagine what more we can do in the future,” he added.
A total of 69 winners across 18 categories were awarded to agents, branch offices and organisations that have been a driving force in encouraging Malaysians to save and invest in ASNB unit trusts.
