Connecting young entrepreneurs in the region

-

FOLLOWING its ongoing efforts to help young entrepreneurs build a regional business network, the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) will be organising its seventh ACCCIM Young Entrepreneurs Conference.

The event, which will be held on July 19, is expected to see over 600 participants. Of this, about 200 are expected to be foreign delegates.

“The conference is a platform for entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities that will come even after the event. And we can see that our youth members have been working together in different ways to further opportunities,” said ACCCIM chairman of young entrepreneurs committee Datuk Ng Yih Pyng.

He noted that rapid development in technologies such as Big Data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and blockchain is increasingly disrupting conventional business models and entrepreneurs need to adapt to continue growing in the face of competition.

“In order to face such huge mar- ket challenges, it is therefore imperative for the young entrepreneurs to continue to innovate, re-engineer, redeploy their resources and pace their operation to embrace the dawn of a new era,” said Ng.

The conference will address new business models, opportunities in the digital economy and the convergence of online and offline retail, among other things.

Participation fee for the conference for ACCCIM members is RM150 while non-members will have to pay RM300.

As part of the conference, there will also be a corporate visit to PKT Logistics Group’s facility to observe and learn how the company has managed to evolved with the times. Participants will have to pay an additional fee of RM80 for the corporate visit.

“The conference hopes to promote interaction among entrepreneurs and expand business cooperation as well as to provide the community with the latest information from the region,” said organising chairman of the conference Chong Khai Siang.
