Harnessing the power of data

-

DATA has become a key factor for decision-making in companies. But experts note that SMEs are not utilising data fast enough to keep them relevant in today’s digital-focused market.

With data set to multiply over the next few years, concerns arise as to whether SMEs are ready to tap into this new resource to support positive decision-making and business growth.

Research has noted that using data-driven insights has improved productivity by up to 33%.

Small businesses will have the opportunity to explore the possibilities that data has to offer as well as learn from experts at the SMEBiz Think Tank event happening on October 2.

It will be held at New World Petaling Jaya Hotel.

In the session “The Power of Data – Monetising Data”, Digi chief business officer Eugene Teh, Supahands vice-president of sales Greg Meehan and Aemulus Holdings Bhd executive director and chief executive officer Ng Sang Beng will turn the topic over to provide SMEs with insights on how they can go about leveraging data to reach out to their customers more effectively and grow their business as well as address the concerns that SMEs may have when it comes to handling data.

With competition becoming more intense, there is a growing urgency for companies to look into data and trends so that they do not lose out.

Other topics that will be explored at the event include “Disruption in the SME Market”, “From Traditional to Digital” and “SMEs’ Readiness Towards E-payments”.

SMEBiz Think Tank is part of Star Media Group’s ongoing sup- port for SMEs under The Star Outstanding Business Awards (SOBA) initiative. It is aimed at helping SMEs thrive in the era of change.

The event will be a platform for SMEs to access industry experts who will be able to share valuable insights to give them an edge in today’s competitive landscape.

Businesses will also have the opportunity to network with various industry experts and with companies and executives across the board.

The fee for the full-day event is RM300 per person and is HRDF claimable.

SMEBiz Think Tank is organised by Star Media Group with Digi, PKT Logistics Group Sdn Bhd and RHB Bank Bhd as main sponsors, Credit Guarantee Corporation as co-sponsor, Matrade as official trade promotion partner and New World Petaling Jaya Hotel as official venue.
