Axiata promotes four internal staff to senior positions
PETALING JAYA: Telecommunications giant Axiata Group Bhd has named four internal talents to take up senior finance positions in Asean and South Asia.
In a statement issued yesterday, Axiata announced that the appointments, which include three Malaysians, will take effect from Oct 15.
Hadi Helmi Zaini Sooria, who has over 20 years of working experience within Axiata, was appointed as the group chief internal auditor. He will also be a part of the group’s senior leadership team.
Meanwhile, Axiata’s current group chief internal auditor Nik Nazifah Nik Ahmad was appointed as Axiata Business Services’ (ABS) director of finance and business support. A finance professional with almost 25 years of experience, Nik Nazifah will report to ABS’ chief executive officer (CEO).
For the role of chief financial officer of Smart Axiata in Cambodia, Feiruz Ikhwan Abdul Malek has been appointed by Axiata.
He will join Smart from XL Axiata, Indonesia where he is the current group head of finance.
Besides the three Malaysians, Axiata appointed Kanishka Wickrama as the chief financial officer of Ncell Axiata in Nepal. Currently the chief financial officer of Smart, he brings more than 10 years of working experience in the information technology industry.
Axiata president and group CEO Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim expressed confidence in the leadership and capabilities of these new appointees.
“At Axiata, we have always placed strong emphasis on the development of our local and internal talent as part of our corporate philosophy.
“These new appointees are part of many who have been groomed to take on increasing responsibilities and are part of a group talent rotational programme,” he said.
