Volco Car Malaysia unveils latest mid-sized SUV

GENTING HIGHLANDS: Volvo Car Malaysia is keen to make its presence felt with the latest addition to its line-up – the mid-sized XC40 T5 R-Design sport-utility vehicle (SUV).

Deliveries for the all-wheel driven XC40 in locally-assembled form will begin in January 2019 and is priced on-the-road without insurance at RM255,888. It will come in four colours options of Bursting Blue, Fusion Red, Crystal White and Osmium Grey.

The SUV features a 2.0-litre turbocharged aluminium direct-injection engine capable of providing 252hp and 350Nm of torque and comes equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

This allows the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100kph in 6.4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 230kph and can tow up to 2.1 tonnes.

Key features include LED daytime running lights and 19-inch wheels with 235/50 series tyres.

Inside, the cabin features a leather-Nubuck combination upholstery, 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 9.0-inch Sensus Connect touchscreen, wireless charge-pad and dualzone automatic climate controls.

It also comes with rear air-con vents, hands-free powered tailgate and a 250W eight-speaker surround sound system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Notable safety systems such as Pilot Assist (semi-autonomous driving) has been included, as well as the latest generation of City Safety (autonomous collision mitigation and avoidance with pedestrian, cyclist and large animal detection).
