SHAH ALAM: UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has launched the fifth-generation Toyota RAV4, priced at RM196,436 (2.0-litre) and RM215,665 (2.5-litre).

Prices are on-the-road without insurance, and take advantage of the 50% reduction in sales tax from June 15 till Dec 31, 2020.

Imported from Japan, the new RAV4 SUV (sport utility vehicle) was unveiled online by UMWT president Ravindran K. and deputy chairman Akio Takeyama.

“The Toyota RAV4 has been a regular offering in our CBU (completely built-up) line-up since the mid-1990s when we began selling the second generation.

“Now we are offering the fifth generation which was the 2019-2020 Japan car of the year.

“As before, owners will enjoy a great ownership experience with peace of mind where not only is there a five-year/unlimited mileage factory warranty but also after-sales support nationwide,” said Ravindran K.

The new RAV4 sits on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform, and provides better stability with less body roll.

Takeyama said, “With the TNGA technology, driving the new RAV4 is much like driving a sedan vehicle with its great agility, stability and visibility”.

Features include an eight-way powered driver’s seat with memory settings, 60:40 split rear seats that can be reclined, and a kick sensor powered back door.

Other convenience features include a keyless smart entry and start system, USB points for charging electronic devices, and a wireless Qi charger pad.

Besides up to seven airbags, the new RAV4 gets Toyota Safety Sense, a suite of systems which assist the driver.
