HLB to continue plans to help customers resume loan payments
PETALING JAYA: Hong Leong Bank (HLB) and Hong Leong Islamic Bank will continue to hold the “Advisory & Assistance Days” over the next two Saturdays at all their branches nationwide, for customers to explore programmes which can help them in the resumption of their loan or financing repayments post moratorium.
Relationship bankers will also be on hand to assist customers who need financial or investment advice.
The “Advisory & Assistance Days” will be held on Sept 26 and Oct 3, from 9:30am until 1pm, throughout the country except in Sabah.
This is because Sept 26 is election day and Oct 3 is the governor’s birthday in Sabah.
The restarting of loan and financing repayments begin on Oct 1.
In a statement yesterday, HLB group managing director and CEO Domenic Fuda urged customers to take proactive steps now.
“We want to ensure we cover all borrowers through these additional ‘Advisory & Assistance Days’,” he said. Fuda noted that while many customers are confirming that their financial situation is stable, there are individuals and small and medium enterprises (SMES) that have requested further targeted assistance, which HLB has been able to provide.
Customers who would like independent assistance can approach the Credit Counselling and Debt Management (AKPK), established by Bank Negara to provide free services on money management, credit counselling, financial education and debt restructuring for individuals.
